I had a mixed experience at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites. The location was convenient for accessing the city and the staff were mostly friendly. especially Trevor at the front desk. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms left much to be desired, with some issues like fruit flies and plumbing problems that detracted from my stay.

6.8/10

My stay at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites had its highs and lows. The check-in process was simple, and staff were friendly, particularly Trevor, who made me feel especially welcome. However, the room felt outdated and had issues with cleanliness. Overall, it was a fair experience but not without its drawbacks.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but somewhat outdated, with a few maintenance issues like a glitchy hairdryer and limited electrical outlets. I appreciated the comfortable mattress and pillows. However, the lack of WiFi and no microwave or fridge was disappointing.
Service
7.0
The staff were overall friendly and accommodating. Trevor was a standout, making the initial welcome pleasant. Yet, there seemed to be some organizational inefficiencies, particularly during check-in, which added some frustrations.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was convenient for my needs, being close to various attractions. However, getting there was a bit tricky due to ongoing construction in the area. It didn't feel very cozy, though.
Dining
5.0
I found the on-site restaurant to offer a good selection of food, but the prices felt quite steep for what was provided. It was a letdown that room service options were limited. I did enjoy the breakfast, which had a decent range.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had useful amenities including pools and a fitness area that I didn't use. However, the outdated room decor and maintenance could use improvement.

5.2/10

My stay at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel And Suites was a mixed bag. While the rooms were adequately clean and the large beds made for comfortable sleeping, the outdated decor and issues like long wait times for room service left a lot to be desired. The overall experience felt more average than really good, which was a bit disappointing given the hotel’s amenities and location.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but quite dated, with some signs of wear and tear. The beds were large and comfy, but there was a noticeable lack of modern amenities like a microwave or fridge.
Service
5.0
Service could use some improvement. I had a frustrating experience with room service that took way too long, and there were other signs of staff being overwhelmed, especially during busy hours.
Location
8.0
The location was super convenient for getting around, especially for events. It was easy to access public transport, which made my travels around the city smooth.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were fairly limited and the food quality was just okay. Also, I found the prices to be a bit steep for what was offered.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities seemed decent but could use updates. The pool area looked nice in pictures, but in reality, it was musty and needed some attention.

I had a really nice stay at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites, especially considering the reasonable price. The room was quite spacious and modern, although it could have used a bit more attention to detail. The pool area was stunning and made for a relaxing atmosphere, but there were some mixed experiences with the dining options and staff service throughout my stay.

Rooms
8.0
The room had modern decor and was spacious, but it showed some signs of wear and tear. I found the heated bathroom floor and balcony to be nice touches, and the amenities were generally good.
Service
7.0
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Trevor at the front desk. However, I did encounter a few who seemed a bit curt on check-in and could benefit from some extra training.
Location
8.0
The location is quite convenient, close to downtown yet still giving a sense of greenery around the hotel. It's easy to access main roads to explore the city.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast buffet had a decent selection, but I thought the in-house dining was overpriced and the service could have been quicker. However, the breakfast buffet was enjoyable overall.
Facilities
9.0
The pool area was impressive and well-maintained, and the gym looked good too, though I didn't get a chance to use it. I appreciated the availability of on-site parking as well.

My stay at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites had its ups and downs. The lobby looked great and the staff were friendly, but the room condition was unacceptable with dirty carpets and dated furnishings. Overall, it felt like the place had so much potential but was let down by management and cleanliness.

Rooms
5.0
The room I initially got was really disappointing with dirt and wear throughout. The air conditioning was noisy, making it hard to sleep. After switching rooms, there was a slight improvement, but overall the condition just felt outdated.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, my experience with the front desk was mixed. I encountered some rudeness which made it frustrating to address issues, especially when I needed assistance with room changes.
Location
7.0
The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to get to downtown Toronto and other areas. There are shopping options within walking distance, which is a plus.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were decent, with a variety of foods available. However, I struggled to find a clean table during breakfast, leading me to go elsewhere for a meal.
Facilities
5.0
The gym was okay, and the heated bathroom floors were a nice touch. Unfortunately, not all facilities, like the hot tub, were operational during my stay.
